An issue exists between certain Intel graphics chips and Windows 10 that causes the display to dim and no amount of pressing the brightness keys will help. In order to fix this you must edit the registry key found here:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0000] Then in the left pane select:

Here is some useful information on installing a network printer on a vista or windows 7 computer from xp, this also works if you are trying to connect to 32 bit version of windows from 64 bit and visa versa. The reason for using this method is so you can use a downloaded driver which may be customized rather than using the driver installed on the host computer. Using this method will also allow for the traditional prompt for driver by selecting the manufacturer and model.

Its hard not to be proud when you fix something others have said are impossible. In the pictures below you can see I have followed the usb trace wires back in order to repair this circuit board which was for the yearbook dept of a local school saving them hundreds of dollars. If you have ever made a registry change that has caused your system to no longer boot, or changed your password and forgot it :-(, then this post will help a lot. In this post I will go over how to edit the registry from your bootable media (i.e. windows 7 full install disc).

Follow these steps:

1. power on the system and press the key required to enter a boot menu (i.e. esc, f9, f10, f11, f12, or del)

2. insert your windows 7 cd and select your disc drive as the "boot from" option
